EC directive 2000/53/EC (End of Life vehicles directive) is important to the automotive industry because it regulates the procedure for scrapping end of life vehicles. In order to provide an overview of all pure materials that are installed in cars, they must be registered by the OEM's the their suppliers in web-database known as the "International Material Data System" www.mdsystem.com .
